It's the launch of Issue 2 of Monika Magazine at Donlon Books this eve. One of my scribbles is in this issue; the last issue was a great mix of creative writing and interesting articles on Art and Design, I can't wait to go pick up my copy! Yip!

The Birds

Some old work made new, these drawings were from my sketch book for a book illustration competition. They didn't get used in the end, so thought I would breathe some life into them now, if you haven't ever read Daphne Du Maurier's "The Birds" you should! Hitchcock's film version is probably in the top 10 of my favourite films of all time, though the films ending differ from the original book.

Here are a few of many spot illustrations I made for a book titled "Recycle; The Essential Guide" published by Black Dog this April. I used ink for the drawings and as a result had two black fingers for the duration! (I am not the tidiest of illustrators)

I recently finished a drawing of massive proportions for a private commission ( for above a fireplace no doubt) The drawing is 80x180cm titled "I can Hear You Talking, But I'm Not Listening" and followed on from my reading of this book.

Amelia's Anthology of Illustration

This illustration will be in Amelia's Anthology of Illustration should be in all good art book shops soon. Each Illustrator featured in the book was asked to create an image which depicts the use of new or existing energy creating technologies which have little or no environmental impact. I chose the Sea Dog Pump which has yet to be used in British waters, it captures ocean wave energy without using electricity or leaving any pollutants or bi-products or sucking up fish.

How To...make a promo

I was commissioned to create a hand drawn animated promo for the Discovery Channel's How To Hour. It's a series of scientific programs explaining How things are made; light bulbs, binoculars etc. It was broadcasted across Europe in September this year, though, sadly for me not in the U.K. so I still don't know how a light bulb is made, er, fireflies?

This blog will be a space for new and almost finished pieces of creative work, doodles and ramblings.

It's also a documentation of an ongoing archive of Dream Diaries, something I have been keeping for many years. I hope it will form the basis of another project in the future. I intend to post something new every Friday from this day forth, so please keep checking back!
